WEC is an initiative by NITI Aayog to promote and support established as well as aspiring women entrepreneurs in India and create a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem where women do not face any gender based barriers. In order to create a mutual platform under NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Cell (WEC), NASSCOM has entered into a partnership with NITI Aayog to provide a continuous stimuli for innovation & growth among the women entrepreneurs in the country. NASSCOM through its Start-up initiative 10,000 Start-ups will be supporting this cause across India.
About the Women Techship Program:
As part of this program, we propose quarterly meetups, workshops and acceleration programs (As given below) every year where we will showcase the best startups in front of our investors, accelerators and incubator partners.
The aim is to drive meaningful and result-oriented interactions amongst emerging and successful women professionals in technology.
About the Support on Work Spaces
NASSCOM through the Startup warehouses in 10 states would make available space for Women Entrepreneurs led StartUp across the locations on a nominal charges basis. Women employees/ Entrepreneurs are offered 50% discount on the base fees on a monthly basis. In return, the StartUp warehouses provides for top class infrastructure including WIFI bandwidth, access to meeting rooms, conference rooms, cohorts, etc. We would also work with our technology partners / and other business/legal/ financial support partners to make available their Start up Kits to the selected start up as is made available to NASSCOM 10000 StartUp program. The estimated benefits available are approximately USD 10,000 per start up per year as cloud credits from our partners
To apply to this program, a startup has to be led by a women. The startups should be product ready and have reasonable traction.
The program is a series of small and big sessions and workshops such as Mentor 101, Investor 101 including other equally impactful events. Each shortlisted startup receives a welcome kit, popularly called Startup Kit, as an encouragement for them to use latest online tech tools to help them along their journey, not to mention PR connects and showcase.
