Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, the program has been reinvented to a virtual pitching format that will remain till needed. The startups connect with the VCs through e-pitching sessions to generate preliminary interest for the presenting startups. Each presenting organisation is allocated 15 minutes for their pitch. Post these sessions startups can take forward the discussions with the interested VCs on a one-on-one basis. The program addresses startups through a sectoral approach where in every pitch session organized by NASSCOM has 5-7 curated startups from specific sectors where investors from respective regions have shown interest.
We endeavour to collect the preference list from investors beforehand to be able to map the right / qualifying startup from the Indian side that fits the bill on varied criteria such as verticals, technology blend, size, opportunity size, etc. On the basis of this preference list, Indian startups are shortlisted and subsequently showcased to ensure the program is result oriented for all participants. Typically, we have seen majority of interest emerging from these verticals in this era - Mobility / Supply Chain, Healthtech / Personnel Hygiene, Agritech / Food, Fintech, Clean Tech, Media/Entertainment & Robotics in the Retail and Telecom sectors.
